Plays, Concerts & MoviesTheater art and musical performances are abundant in the Carson Valley. The Carson Valley Community Theater has been performing drama, comedy, and musicals since 2004 in the historic CVIC hall in downtown Minden and other local venues. The Dakota Organization has been producing plays in the Carson Valley since 2005 and children’s theater productions are produced by the TOAD (Theater of Arts Discipline) Showbiz Kids. There is also a very ambitious project underway under the auspices of the Carson Valley Arts Council to renovate the Copeland Building into a state of the art theater. For music lovers, the GE Energy Family Concert Series provides a variety of musical performances at the Minden Park Gazebo, and the Carson Valley Arts Council presents eclectic musical events at the Copeland Building and CVIC. Movie buffs will find first-run films year round at the Ironwood 8 theater complex in Minden and the Galaxy Fandango 10 multiplex a few miles north in Carson City. During the summer, Heritage Park in Gardnerville hosts the Movies in the Park series. |
