Ed and Debora Delaney tell us about a prison break in Carson City in 1871. He is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, with a BA degree in Journalism and a MA degree in Mass Communications. His minor was American History. She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, with a BA in Art. Their newest offering is Quest For Freedom. It is a work of historical fiction and chronicles the infamous 1871 Nevada State Prison break. This event saw 29 hardened criminals escape from the Carson City facility and rampage throughout the Eastern and Western Sierra Nevada.
Every second Thursday of the month a different guest speaker will enlighten us about the rich history in the Carson Valley. The lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 U.S. 395 Gardnerville, NV. Admission is $3.00, free to members of the Douglas County Historical Society.
